Jessi Vining is a student midwife and owner/operator of Desert Blooms, LLC. Jessi first entered birth work in 2011 as a birth doula. She then began working as a midwife's assistant at a local midwifery practice, working with and learning from 9 different midwives over a 4 year time-period.
Since 2011, Jessi has attended over 130 births in capacities of birth doula, midwife's assistant, and student midwife. She has experience with homebirth, hospital birth, and water birth. She is an AMANI certified birth doula, and is certified with the Oklahoma Midwives Alliance as a monitrice. She is certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) and has taken advanced training in Birth Emergency Skills (BEST workshop 2013). Jessi also has specialized training and experience working with survivors of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse and offers consults to expecting parents to prepare for and avoid triggers during their childbearing year. She currently teaches two childbirth education classes: Birthing at Home (which she created) and AMANI Birth. Jessi is also a placenta encapsulation specialist with 3 years of experience working with Spirited Birth Service.
currently, Jessi is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery for from Midwives College of Utah. Midwives College of Utah is a MEAC accredited program, requiring completion of the clinical requirements laid out by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM), is addition to passing the NARM exam. Jessi plans to take the NARM exam and graduate in 2018, becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). Currently, she services within the scope of Student Midwife, requiring direct supervision of a qualified care provider (such as a CPM, LM, or OB) at all times.

Her strong belief is that evidence-based information empowers the birthing individual/team to advocate for their care. Danielle has an intuitive ability to anticipate the need of her clients.
Danielle Is honored to join the Mosaic team as she trains to be a primary care provider for Oklahoma families. Acutely aware of Oklahoma’s poor maternal health outcomes and very high infant mortality rates, Danielle is committed to ensuring ALL families have access to immediate prenatal care when needed. Her goal is to create a program that will allow this to happen.
